Homer L. Lewis

Homer L. Lewis, 83, of West Reading, died September 22, 2008 in Mifflin Center.

He was the husband of Corinne D. (Williams) Lewis, to whom he had been married to for 60 years.

Born in Hyer, WV, he was a son of the late Charles A. and Nora P. (Marlowe) Lewis.

He was a machinist for 40 years, the last 26 of which he spent employed by Edwin H. Zacharias Machine Works, Bern Twp., retiring in 1990.

Mr. Lewis was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during World War II.

Homer was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church, Reading.

He was an avid hunter and fisherman.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his two daughters, Karen L., wife of Ronald D. Wagner, Boyertown and Debra L., wife of Thomas W. Yager, Huntingdon Valley. There are four siblings, Exie M. Bland, WV, Virginia M. Sanford, VA, Sarah A. Schneider, WI and Barbara J. Lott, CA. Two grandchildren, Daniel W. Yager and Lauren E. Yager also survive him.

He was predeceased by his son, Jeffrey A. Lewis in 1962 and five siblings, Lena, Charles, Oliver, James and Hazel.

Services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., West Reading. Burial will be in Forest Hills Memorial Park. Friends may call one hour before the service.
