Hilda Gordon

Hilda Gordon, 86, of Laureldale, died May 1, 2012 in Reading Hospital and Medical Center.

She was the wife of Melvin L. Gordon who predeceased her on July 25, 1989.

Born September 12, 1925 in Bedford, PA, she was a daughter of the late Ellis and Hazel Pearl (Oliver) Miller.

Hilda was a 1943 graduate of Bedford High School, Bedford, PA.

She was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church, Laureldale.

Surviving are two children: Marvin W. Gordon of Temple and Sharon G., wife of Paul B. Henry of Muhlenberg Township.

In addition, she is survived by a grandson, Scott Henry Gordon of Macungie, PA and two sisters, Janet Louise, wife of John (Jack) Wertz of Bedford, PA; Lillian Margaret, wife of the late Charles Orin Biddle of Dunedin, FL and a brother, Leo Emerson, husband of Mary Lois Miller of Belfont, PA.

Other survivors include nieces and nephews: Nolan and Faye, children of Ralph and Eloise Miller; Lana and Joyce, children of Hattie and Henry Faupel; John, Janice Ann, James and Joan, children of Janet and Jack Wertz; Lucinda, Lori and Hope, children of Leo and Mary Lois Miller and Michael and Julie, children of Lillian and Charles Biddle.

Hilda was predeceased by a brother, Ralph Eugene and his wife, Eloise Jeanette Miller and a sister, Hattie Pearl and her husband, Henry Bernard Faupel.

Services will be Saturday at 10 a.m. in Calvary Lutheran Church, 1009 Elizabeth Avenue, Laureldale, PA 19605. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service in the church. Burial will be in Laureldale Cemetery, Muhlenberg Township.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Calvary Lutheran Church at the above address. Please write on the memo line "Memorial Fund - Hilda Gordon."
