Hilda M. Achenbach

Hilda M. Achenbach, age 89, formerly of Hamburg, PA passed away Sunday March 22, 2015 at StoneRidge Poplar Run, Myerstown, Pa. Born May 11, 1925 in Schuylkill Haven, PA, she was the daughter of the late Lewis B. and Dorotha (Dorothy) (Heller) Heinbach. She was the widow of Charles D. Achenbach and pre-deceased by sisters Jean A. Bounds and Mary Rothacker. A former Office Manager for C. Malcom Smith & Co., CPAs and after retiring became a part time employee of Charles J. Hafer, Public Accountant. She was a graduate of Schuylkill Haven High School. Hilda was an active member of the Bethany United Methodist Church, Hamburg, PA participating in Choir, Sunday School, church bazaars, Women's Club, Business & Professional organizations including Girl Scouts as a Troop Leader. She was a loving Wife, Mother, Grandmother, and thoughtful and caring person who loved making crafts, needle point, cross stitch, painting and anything art related. A family favorite activity was her treasure and scavenger hunts for grandchildren. Surviving is one son, Randall C. Achenbach, Husband of Diane S. (Kissinger) Achenbach, Camp Hill, PA, Sisters: Shirley A. Robbins, Ocala, Fla, and Donnalee D. Koons, St. Clair, PA, three grandchildren: Derek R. Achenbach, husband of Jamie C. Wilson, Phoenix, AZ, Aaron D. Achenbach, husband of Kelly L. (Sonon) Achenbach, Reading, PA, and Amy L. (Achenbach) Weyant, wife of Scott A. Weyant, Mechanicsburg, PA, Six great-grandchildren: Camille, Penelope, & Jacqueline Achenbach, Kurt Achenbach, and Mason & Sydney Weyant. Funeral services will be held on Friday March 27, 2015 with visitation from 11:00 AM – 11:30 AM, services at 11:30 – 12:00 at the Burkey & Driscoll Funeral Home, Inc., Hamburg, PA.
