Hettie L. Riegel

Hettie L. (Shirk) Riegel, 59, of Hamburg, passed away June 7, 2015, at the Reading Hospital.

She was the loving wife of Bruce K. Riegel, who was by her side.

Born in West Reading, she was the daughter of Henry E. and Marion V. (Wolfe) Shirk, Shillington.

She was a graduate of Governor Mifflin in 1973 and McCann's School of Business.

Hettie worked 20 years as a contract manager in the purchasing department at the Reading Hospital.

She was a member of the First United Church of Christ, Hamburg.

Hettie enjoyed playing the piano.

She loved sewing, cooking and music.

Hettie was very well liked by everyone. She will be truly missed by all who knew her.

In addition to her husband and parents, she is survived by her son, Gregory B. Riegel, Hamburg and her two fur baby dogs, Bye-Bye and Maggie who will miss her dearly.

She was predeceased by her brother, David M. Shirk.

The family would like to thank the staff of N-3, Reading Hospital.

Services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., 739 Penn Ave., West Reading. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
