Hettie R. Witman

Hettie Rachel (Hepner) Witman, 87, of Laureldale, died September 10, 2012 in ManorCare Health Services, Muhlenberg Township.

She was the widow of Leon Charles Witman who died December 23, 1990.

Born October 9, 1924 in Alsace Township, she was a daughter of the late George and Katie (Bowman) Hepner.

Hettie enjoyed crocheting.

Surviving are three children: Russel I., husband of Prudence G. Hepner of Laureldale; Gloria J., wife of Donald C. Moyer of Newport News, VA and Sandra L., wife of Robert Schaffer of Bechtelsville.

Other survivors include eight grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren.

Also surviving are her brother, Kermit Hepner and five sisters, Fern Kieffer, Shirley Gambler, Hannah Boyer, Esther Feltenberger and Raydell Schittler.

Hettie was predeceased by her sister, Betty Gardner.

Services will be Friday at 10 a.m. in Walter R. Christ Funeral Home, Inc., 3300 Kutztown Road, Laureldale. A viewing will be held one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Forest Hills Memorial Park, Exeter Township.
