Hettie G. Levan

Hettie G. Levan, 86 formerly of Shartlesville and Hamburg died in Schuylkill Medical South on April 1, 2015. Prior to that she had resided at Orwigsburg Manor for two years. She was the widow of Harrison D. Levan who died January 31st, 1993. Hettie was born in Walnuttown and was the daughter of the late Charles and Mary (Barlet) Quillman. She worked for over 20 years as a cook at the Shartlesville Hotel. Two daughters, Virginia H. Brabant, Bernville, Barbara Redding, Reading, and two sons, Robert Levan, Sr., and Alvin Levan, Hamburg, survive Hettie. She is also survived by a sister, Betty Schmehl, Fleetwood and two brother, Barry Quillman, Quakertown and Frank Quillman, Blandon and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 6th at 11:00 AM from the Burkey & Driscoll Funeral Home, Inc. 40 S. 4th Street, Hamburg. A viewing will be held on Monday from 10:00 to 11:00 AM.
