Herman S. Wessner

Herman S. Wessner, 81, formerly of Sycamore Road, West Reading, died July 26 at 8:30 a.m. in Country Meadows, Wyomissing.

Born in Reading, he was a son of the late Victor and Gertrude (DeLong) Wessner.

Wessner had been employed by the U.S. Postal Service in Shillington, retiring as postmaster in 1975.

He was an Army veteran of World War II.

Wessner was a charter member and former treasurer of the West Reading Playground Association.

He is survived by a son, Kerry W., Birdsboro, and a daughter, Kathy A. (Wessner) Jozwiak, South Heidelberg Township.

There are also four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Services will be Wednesday at 11:30 a.m. in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home Inc., West Reading. Burial will be in Pleasant View Cemetery, Spring Township.
