Herman R. Beck, 84, passed away December 6, 2021, surrounded by his loving family in his Temple residence.
He was the beloved husband of the late Jaqueline R. Beck, with whom he shared 64 years of marriage before her death in 2019.
Born in Reading, he was the son of the late Charles H. and Verna Mary (Hoffman) Beck.
Herman was a 1955 graduate of Reading High School.
He was employed by Dana Corporation as a welder for 39 years retiring in 1994. After retirement, he also worked for the Wilson School District in the Food Service Department for 10 years.
Herman was an avid golfer and liked working in the outdoors. He enjoyed going to the beach and spending time with his family. He was an extremely hard worker and made sure his family was taken care of.
He is survived by his two daughters, Kim, wife of Rick Snyder, Wyomissing; and Vicki, wife of Tom Frees, West Lawn. He is also survived by his daughter-in-law, Mimi Beck, Sinking Spring; six grandchildren, Keri Shahpari, Matt Snyder, Jennifer Kline, Kyle Frees, Chelsea Beck, and Tyler Beck; twelve great-grandchildren, Beckham Shahpari, Bastian Shahpari, Brayden Snyder, Presley Snyder, Serena Kline, Airyanna Kline, Grayson Kline, Laylah Kline, Tanner Kline, Liam Kline Parker Frees and Lucas Frees; two brothers, Richard Beck and Charles Beck; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Herman was predeceased by his son Jeffrey Beck, and two sisters, Gladys Tavenner and Nancy Helbert.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held Friday, December 10, 2021, at 1 p.m. in the Kuhn Funeral Home & Crematory, 5153 Kutztown Rd., Temple PA 19560, with entombment to follow at Gethsemane Cemetery Mausoleum. A viewing will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the funeral home.
