Herman C. Bartow, 86, passed away on June 19, 2015 in his Wernersville residence.
He was the loving husband of Marjorie E. (Biddle) Bartow, with whom they celebrated 63 years, this past February.
Born in Altoona, he was the son of the late Elvie M. and Belva M. (Walker) Bartow.
Herman was a graduate of Altoona High School.
He was a veteran of the United States Army.
Herman was associated with the Jehovah's Witness faith.
He was employed by the Pennsylvania Railroad as an electrician until retirement.
Herman enjoyed making bird houses and watching sports, but his passion was cooking and spending much of his time with his beloved family.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Bruce A. Bartow, Philadelphia; Connie E., wife of Wayne Montieth, Shillington; Timothy L. Bartow, Richland; Cynthia S. Sambuco, Sykesville, MD and Jonathan M., husband of Rocio Bartow, Westminster, MD: brother, Kenny Bartow. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his eldest son, William Bartow, Duncannsville, PA: siblings, Betty, Bud, and Toni.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday June 27, 2015 at 2pm in the Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, West Reading. Online condolences may be recorded at www.kuhnfuneralhome.com.
