Herbert H. Stahl

Herbert H. Stahl Jr., 73, formerly of West Reading and Drexelwood, passed away on Wednesday, June 19, 2024, in his Wernersville residence. He was cherished by his wife, Suzanne (Thiel), with whom he celebrated 52 years of marriage. Together they traveled to more places than a "South 12th Street guy" ever imagined.

Born in Reading to the late Herbert H. Stahl Sr. and Evelyn (Wachstetter) Stahl, Herb graduated from Reading High School in 1969. He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War from 1971-1974. After his honorable discharge, he served his community through the United States Post Service, retiring in 2005 as a Postal Supervisor.

Herb will be missed and honored by his sons, Michael (Stacey) and Brian (Lisa); his grandchildren, Paige (Nick) McGrogan, Adam Stahl, Tyler Stahl, and Jacob Stahl; and great grandchildren, Holden and Xander McGrogan.

Herb and his family enjoyed sports. In addition to being a Phillies fan and holding Eagles season tickets, Herb's favorite sports team was any team that his boys played on. He was their #1 fan from the time they were in Midgets/Mites through their college sports careers. He was very proud of the men his sons became. Herb's dedicated support extended to his grandchildren. He was a kind and loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather.
