Henry Bernard Speece, 80, died August 11, 2007 at 1:02 am in his West Reading Borough residence.
He was the widower of Rita M. (Moyer) Speece, who died June 4, 1992.
Born in Reading, PA on March 18, 1927, he was a son of the late Lylvan and Anna (Ketterer) Speece.
He was a member of Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, West Reading.
Henry was an Army Veteran of WWII.
He was a head coach of the West Reading Mite and Midget Football Teams from 1969 thru 1972.
Henry was employed 23 years as a meat cutter with Armour and Company, Reading until 1972.
He was later employed 13 years as a press operator with Dana Corporation, Reading, before retiring in 1989.
Henry is survived by three sons, Patrick J. Speece of West Reading, Thomas B. husband of Gretchen Speece of Charleroi, PA., and Christopher A. husband of Beth Ann Speece of Oakville, Ontario, Canada.
Other survivors include two brothers, Arthur of Shillington and Joseph of Reading.
There are also two sisters, Irene Schmidt of Reading and Janet Fenstermacher of Greenfields.
He is also survived by five grandchildren, Matthew, Heather, Caitlin, Rebecca and John.
Henry was predeceased by a son, Mark S. Speece, who died July 1956.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday at 10:00 am in Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, Lakeview and Franklin Streets, West Reading. A viewing will be held one hour prior to Mass in the church. Burial will be in Gethsemane Cemetery, Muhlenberg Township. Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, West Reading is in charge of arrangements.
