Henry J. Schepers, Sr.

Henry J. "Hank" Schepers, Sr., 89, of Wyomissing, passed away peacefully on May 25, 2016.

His wife, Mary Ann (Palermo) Schepers, died on July 25, 2015.

Born in Kansas City, KS, he was a son of the late Henry J. and Elizabeth T. (Naylor) Schepers.

He was a graduate of Lillis High School and also received his bachelor's degree in education from Rockhurst University in Kansas City, MO. Hank was a standout basketball player, served in the U. S. Navy and a longtime parishioner of St. Ignatius Loyola Roman Catholic Church, Whitfield.

Hank was employed as a supervisor by Consolidate Freight and Yellow Freight Systems.

He is survived by his children: James K., husband of Beth Schepers, Gaithersburg, MD; Joseph T., husband of Kerry Schepers, Cary, NC; Henry J., husband of Christine Schepers, Bentonville, AK; Alexander P., husband of Jeannine, Reading; and Kathleen A., wife of Timothy Talarico, Oley. A sister, Mary E. Hollmann, Kansas City, MO; fourteen grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren also survive him.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday at 10 a.m. in St. Ignatius Loyola R.C. Church, 2810 St. Albans Drive, Sinking Spring, PA 19608. Burial will follow in Gethsemane Cemetery.
