Henry J. Lory

Henry James "Jim" Lory, 72 died July 23, 2008 at 5:35 a.m. in his Muhlenberg Township residence.

He was the husband of Renate (Scheld) Lory whom he married December 23, 1960.

Born March 3, 1936 in Baltimore, MD, he was a son of the late Henry Hannibal, Sr. and Mary Virginia (Bagwell) Lory.

Jim was a 1954 graduate of Baltimore Polytechnic Institute. He received a B.S. in Engineering in 1958 and a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering in 1963, both from John's Hopkins University.

He was a member of the Reading Scuba Rescue Team and Reading Telephone Pioneers.

Also surviving are three sons, Andrew Henry, husband of Detra (Sigmon) Lory of Cary, NC; John D. Lory of Metuchen, NJ and Trevor J. Lory, partner of John P. Sempier of North Wildwood.

In addition there are three half-brothers, Henry H., Richard E. and John W. Lory all of Reisterstown, MD.

He is also survived by a brother-in-law, Gregory Pawelski of Heidelberg Township, husband of the late Ann Marie (Lory) Breneman Pawelski. There is one grandson, William Nolan Lory of Cary, NC also surviving.

Services will be private at the convenience of the family.
