Henry H. Thompson, 77, of Spring Twp., died March 30, 2007 in Polyclinic Hospital, Harrisburg, where he had been since March 1.
He was the husband of Elnor K. (Kohnert) Thompson.
Born in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, he was a son of the late Bert and Louise (Donbrowski) Thompson.
He was a Plant Engineer for Western Electric/ Lucent/ Agere until his retirement in 1987.
Henry was a graduate of Eau Claire Memorial High School in 1947 and Milwaukee School of Engineering in 1960.
He was an Army Air Force Veteran of the Korean War.
Henry was a member of Wesley United Methodist church, Reading, where he served as a chief usher, was a Sunday School Teacher and ran the boys and girls breakfast. He also held other volunteer positions at the church.
He was a longtime member of the gideons. Henry was a member of Lion's Club of Sinking Spring, where he served all offices including president. He later became a member of Lions Club of Spring Twp. Henry was a member of the Masonic Lodge #660, Reading. He also was a volunteer for meals on wheels, Spring Twp.
Services will be Tuesday at 1 p.m. in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., West Reading. Burial will be in Pleasant View Cemetery. A viewing will be held Monday from 7:30 to 9 p.m. and on Tuesday from 12:30 to 1 p.m. in the funeral home.
