Helene M. Dooley, 84, passed away on June 9, 2025 at Country Meadows of Wyomissing, where she resided. Born in Reading, she was the daughter of the late Thomas, Sr. and Catherine (Leinenbach) Dooley. She was a 1958 graduate of the former Central Catholic High School, and life long member of St. Margaret Roman Catholic Church.
She was employed as a front desk receptionist and phone operator for over 40 years at the former ad agency, Beaumont, Heller & Sperling until its closing in 1999. She continued her career in a similar position for the law firm of Bingaman & Hess until her retirement in 2015. Her naturally outgoing personality, infectious smile, and the ability to hold a meaningful conversation with anyone from a blue collar contractor to a Fortune 500 company CEO, and anyone in between, made her an effective face of these organizations.
Helene is survived by her sister, Carolyn (Dooley) Martinez of Albuquerque, NM; her brother, Thomas Dooley, Jr., his wife, Diane (Vogt), of Exeter Township; her nephews: Phillip Martinez, Jr. of Bellevue, WA, Thomas Dooley, Jr., his wife, Jane, of Columbus, OH; her nieces: Kathleen Metzger, her husband, Dr. Andrew, and Dr. Cristina Martinez, her husband, Karl Pergola, all of Albuquerque, NM, and Ashlyn Guyer, her husband, Chris of York, PA; as well as 7 great nephews, 3 great nieces, and several former neighbors, and many lifelong friends, especially Jim Flannery.
The family wishes to extend their thanks to the staff of Country Meadows, and Grane Hospice, for their excellent, professional, and compassionate care.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, June 16, 2025 at 9:30 at St. Margaret RCC, 925 Centre Ave, Reading, PA 19601, with burial to follow in Gethsemane Cemetery, Reading. Friends and family may gather at the church from 8:30 a.m. until the beginning of Mass.
