Helen M Zillhardt

Helen M. (Scioli) Zillhardt was born in Reading, PA on July 6, 1924 to Angeline and Joseph Scioli. She passed away at the age of 100 on July 7, 2024 at Rest Haven Nursing Home where she resided. She is survived by her son, Glenn, her daughter, Karen (and Tom), her Granddaughters, Tracey, Kimberly and Megan, her 5 Great-Grandchildren.

Helen lived in PA for many years before moving to MD in 1964 with her husband, Harry and her two children. She learned to drive at this time and worked part-time at the Government Printing Office for many years. She was an active member of her church, sang with the Sweet Adelines Group and was involved in the Italian-American Foundation.

She returned to PA in 1992 to live in Wyomissing. From there she and Harry moved to Country Meadows in York to be closer to her daughter and family and to receive the needed care for her husband who was diagnosed with Alzheimers. During the Pandemic, Helen began to have physical challenges and moved to Rest Haven Nursing Home where she resided until she passed away.

She will be dearly missed by her family and friends, but we take comfort in knowing she is now at peace.

Family and Friends will be notified in the future when Celebration of Life arrangements are made. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations in her memory be made to Rest Haven Nursing Home, 1050 S. George St., York, PA 17403 or to the Foundation for the Reading Pagoda Restoration Fund.
