Helen A. Hess Yoder

Helen A. (Fretz) Hess Yoder, 97, formerly of Amity Township, passed away peacefully Saturday, March 3, 2012 at Lebanon Valley Home, Annville.

Born in Amity Township, she was the wife of the late Clifford R. Hess, who passed away in 1973, and the late Irvin S. Yoder, who passed away in 2000. She was the daughter of the late Paul K. and Edith L. (Sailer) Fretz.

She was a member of Salem UCC, Oley.

She is survived by a brother, Richard S. Fretz and his wife Ruth of New Philadelphia; a niece, Theresa Haslam and her husband Robert of Port Carbon; and a nephew, Paul Fretz and his wife Andrea of Birdsboro. She was preceded in death by a son, Royden F. Hess, a daughter, Shirley Jane Hess; a brother, Floyd S. Fretz; a stepson, Richard I. Yoder, and a grandson, Larry Hess.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, March 8, 2012 at Blankenbiller Funeral Home, 423 Main St., Oley, PA with the Rev. Robert R. Witmeyer officiating. Burial will follow in Oley Union Cemetery, Spangsville. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 PM on Wednesday, March 7, 2012 at the funeral home and again on Thursday one hour prior to the service.
