Helen M. Stewart, 91, formerly of South Hampton, N.J., died Nov. 19 in the Berks Heim Annex, where she had resided since Sept. 28.
Her husband, John Stewart, died in 1979.
Born in Lansford, Carbon County, she was a daughter of the late James and Mary Ellen (Boyle) Kennedy.
Stewart had been employed for 25 years as a registered nurse by New Jersey Manufacturing Co., Trenton, retiring in 1984. She was a clinical nurse supervisor during World War II for Keiser-Frazier Co., Bristol, N.J.
She was a member of Our Lady of the Lakes Roman Catholic Church, Tabernacle, N.J., where she served as an extraordinary minister of Holy Communion.
Stewart was a graduate of St. Agnes High School, Lansford, and Misericordia Hospital School of Nursing, Philadelphia.
She is survived by two sisters, Kathleen (Kennedy) Stianchi, Mechanicsburg, Cumberland County, and Elizabeth (Kennedy) Mitchell, Lehighton, Carbon County.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday at 10 a.m. in Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, West Reading. Private burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery, Bensalem, Bucks County. Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home Inc., West Reading, is in charge of arrangements.
