Helen V. Rowe

Helen Violet Rowe, 80, of Shillington died April 19, 2012 in The Reading Hospital and Medical Center.

She was the wife of Jack Charles Rowe, Sr. who died March 8, 2010.

Born July 30, 1931 in Kempton, she was a daughter of the late Glancy J. and Estella Emma (Kunkel) Hamm.

Helen was employed as a machine operator for many years, retiring February 1997.

Surviving are three children: Sheila M. (Rowe), wife of Dennis G. Calvaresi of Reading; Jack C., Jr., husband of Rosa M. (Ortiz) Rowe of Temple and Bonnie L. (Rowe), wife of C. Theodore Sauer of Shillington.

Other survivors include two sisters, Leah (Hamm), widow of James Flammer and Mildred (Hamm), wife of Donald Kistler, both of Hamburg.

In addition, she is survived by six grandchildren, four step grandchildren, six great grandchildren and three step great grandchildren.

Helen was predeceased by a daughter, Jacqueline Ann Rowe who died April 17, 1975.

Services will be Monday at 10 a.m. in Walter R. Christ Funeral Home, Inc., 3300 Kutztown Road, Laureldale. Viewings will be held Sunday evening from 6:30-8:00 and Monday morning from 9:30 until the time of service. Burial will be in Berks County Memorial Gardens, Maidencreek Township.
