Helen M. Rodgers

Helen M. Rogers, 89, of the Sencit Townhouse Apartments, South Summit Avenue, Cumru Township, died Feb. 9 at 6:58 a.m. in Reading Hospital, shortly after being admitted.

Her husband, Lloyd D. Rodgers, died April 13, 1974.

Born in Wernersville, she was a daughter of the late Henry and Alice (Ebling) Boyer.

Rogers was employed as sales clerk by Boscov's Department Store, retiring in 1977.

She was a member of West Lawn United Methodist Church.

Rogers was involved in the foster grandparents program through Reading Area Community College for 10 years until 1998.

Surviving are a son, Gerald P. Sell, Williamstown, N.J.; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. in Pleasant View Cemetery, Spring Township. Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home Inc., West Reading, is in charge of arrangements.
