Helen V. Prydybasz

Helen V. Prydybasz, 96, of Cumru Twp. passed away on December 27, 2024.

Her husband, Pete Prydybasz, died on December 11, 2013. They were married on August 28, 1948 and enjoyed 65 years of marriage.

Born in Berks County, she was a daughter of the late John and Cecelia (Blaskiewicz) Wiczalkowski.

She attended Bernville High School. Helen worked for Bortz's Chocolates, Shillington and R.M. Palmer, West Reading for 27 years until her retirement in 1994.

A lifelong Catholic, Helen was a dedicated member of St. John Baptist de la Salle RCC, Shillington.

Helen and her husband Pete were very hard workers. Helen canned the vegetables Pete grew. She thoroughly enjoyed chopping firewood, mowing the grass, and was an excellent property keeper. She was a masterful cook and enjoyed doing it.

She is survived by two children, Peter S., husband of Jan Prydybasz, Mohnton and Jean M., wife of Thomas Hellenthal, Sinking Spring. There are three grandchildren and three great grandchildren. One sister, Theresa Winskowski, also survives her.

Helen was predeceased by five brothers and four sisters.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, January 3, 2024, at 11 a.m. at St. John's RCC, with burial to follow at St. Mary's Cemetery, Reading. A viewing will be held on Friday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the church. Contributions may be made to Catholic Charities, 222 N. 17th Street, 3rd Floor, Philadelphia, PA 19103.
