Helen M. Moyer

Helen Marie (Solomon) Moyer, 91, formerly of Laureldale, died December 9, 2009 at 6:45 a.m. in Landis Homes, Lititz, Lancaster County.

She was married to John William Moyer who died in 1968.

Born April 4, 1918 in Summit Hill, Carbon County, she was a daughter of the late Frank and Anna (Bak) Solomon.

Helen was a graduate of Summit Hill High School.

She was employed as a hairdresser with Claffey's Beauty Shop, Reading for over 50 years.

Surviving are four sisters, Nancy Chabala of Summit Hill; Irene Trojan of Lansford, Carbon County; Martha S., wife of Robert Popp of Bethlehem and Frances Tyhala of McClain, VA and a brother, Michael Solomon of Reading.

Helen was predeceased by two sons, David L. Moyer and Michael W. Moyer and six siblings, Andrew, Frank, John and Kathryn Solomon, Mary Olsovsky and Ann Zulic.

Graveside services will be Friday at 2 p.m. in Laureldale Cemetery, Muhlenberg Township. Walter R. Chirst Funeral Home, Inc., Laureldale is in charge of arrangements.
