Helen R. Liesman

Helen R. Liesman, 85, formerly of Berkshire Drive, Greenfields, and Windsor Street, died July 8 in her residence on Preston Pine Drive, Cary, N.C.

Her husband, William Liesman, died in 1979.

Born in Reading, she was a daughter of the late Edward and Edna (Ermentrout) Russell.

Liesman was employed from 1940 to 1943 as an English and French teacher at the Reading New School.

She was a 1939 graduate of Immaculata College, Chester County.

Liesman was a past president of the Women's Club of Greenfields and a former board member of the Reading Public Library.

Surviving are two daughters, Catherine Liesman, Troy, Mich., and Mary (Liesman) Clement, Cary; and four sons: Paul, Dallastown, York County; Edward, Waukesha, Wis.; William, Winchester, Calif.; and Francis, Okemos, Mich.

Other survivors include 16 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday at 11:30 a.m. in St. Margaret's Roman Catholic Church, Reading. Burial will be in Gethsemane Cemetery, Laureldale. Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home Inc., West Reading, is in charge of arrangements.
