Helen M. Koch, a retired school teacher, died Nov. 17 at 12:20 p.m. in Reading Hospital, where she had been a patient two days.
Koch, 89, a resident of the Highlands at Wyomissing, formerly of Meadowlark Road, Wyomissing, was predeceased by her husband, attorney Henry M. Koch Sr., on Dec. 4, 1994.
She was employed as a kindergarten teacher by Bethany Children's Home, Womelsdorf, and by the Wyomissing School District, until her retirement.
Born in Reading, she was a daughter of the late William and Louella (Mohn) Bowman.
Koch was a 1931 graduate of Kent Place School, Summit N.J., and a graduate of the Illman School of the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia.
She was a member of Atonement Lutheran Church, Wyomissing.
Koch was a Girl Scout leader and Cub Scout den leader in Wyomissing.
She was a former board member of the Guidance Institute of Reading.
Surviving are a son, attorney Henry M. Jr., Oley, and a daughter, Barbara (Koch) Homsher, Wyomissing.
Other survivors include six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be private in St. Paul's Cemetery, Amityville. Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home Inc., West Reading, is in charge of arrangements.
