Helen N. Grookett

Helen N. (Clemmer) Grookett, 84, of Wyomissing, passed away on January 31, 2017, at Berks Heim.

She was married to her husband Harold Grookett, Jr. for many years before his passing in November of 1989.

Helen was the daughter of the late Edward D. and Helen M. (Heisler) Clemmer.

She is survived by two daughters: Edith E., wife of Russel Fleischman, Birdsboro; and Karen L., wife of Thomas C. Freese, Shoemakersville; and three grandchildren: Matthew K. McMullen, Courtney L. Freese, and Joshua T. Freese.

Helen graduated from the Reading Hospital School of Nursing in 1953 and worked as a nurse at Community General Hospital for over 26 years before retiring.

She absolutely loved all arts and crafts, especially knitting and needlepoint. She was an avid reader who had a love for all animals and flowers. Helen was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother and will be dearly missed.
