Helen Ecker

Helen Ecker, 84, of Bern Township, died September 8th at 4:02 pm in the Reading Hospital and Medical Center, where she had been since September 2nd.

She was taken there from the Wyomissing Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Reading, where she had been since December 2004.

Born in Ruscombmanor Township, she was a daughter of the late Irvin and Lillian (Kemmerer) Ecker.

She was employed for over 35 years as a seamstress first at Wide-A-Wake Shirt Factory and last at Oritsky's both of Reading, retiring in 1982.

Ecker was a member of Lutheran Church of the Holy Trinity, Leesport.

She is survived by a sister, Mabel K. (Ecker) Plewa of Reading.

Services will be Monday at 2:00 pm in the Walter R. Christ Funeral Home, Inc., Laureldale. Viewing will be one hour prior to service. Burial will be in Leesport Cemetery.
