Helen J. Brennan

Helen J. (Walsh) Brennan, 82, of Wyomissing Hills, passed away on April 27, 2011 in Reading Hospital and Medical Center surrounded by her loving family.

She was the wife of Robert W. Brennan. They celebrated their 53rd wedding anniversary on January 25th.

Born in Wilkes Barre, she was a daughter of the late James and Dorothy (Nevius) Walsh.

Helen graduated Plains Memorial High School in 1946 and Mercy Hospital Nursing School in 1950. She was employed as a R.N for Mercy Hospital, The Doctors Hospital in Philadelphia, St. Vincent's Hospital in New York City and at the Port Angelis Hospital in Port Angelis Washington.

Helen was a member of St. Ignatius Roman Catholic Church.

She was a Past Secretary of the Garden Club of Wyomissing Hills.

Helen was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and friend who will be missed dearly.

In addition to her husband, Helen is survived by three sons, Dennis J. Brennan, husband of Lori Ann Brennan, Spring Township, Robert M. Brennan, husband of Marilyn A. Brennan, Sinking Spring and Patrick J. Brennan, husband of Jennifer McWilliams Brennan, Lexington, KY; her daughter, Kathryn Brennan Bobb, wife of John M, Bobb, West Lawn; her sister, Dorothy Alvator, of Leesburg, FL and nine grandchildren.

Helen and her family would like to extend their thanks and appreciation to the nurses, Doctors, and staff at the Cancer Center at the Reading Hospital for their caring, competent and considerate help over the past two plus years. The same sentiments go out to the Nurses and Doctors and Aides who helped Helen on N3 the past nineteen days at the Reading Hospital.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday at noon in St. Ignatius Roman Catholic Church, 2810 St Albans Dr. Sinking Spring, PA 19608. Burial will be in St. Ann's Cemetery, Freeland. Friends may call Monday from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., West Reading. Contributions may be made in Helen's name to the Cancer Center Reading Hospital and/or St. Ignatius Church at the above address.
