Harvey Daniel Gechter

Harvey Daniel "Dan" Gechter, 88, passed away on January 6, 2025 surrounded by his loving family. He was the devoted husband of Evelyn (Kinkaid) Gechter. They shared 69 wonderful years together.

Born in Reading, he was the son of the late Elmer and Evelyn (Bowen) Gechter. Dan graduated from Shillington High School, and proudly served in the Marine Corps. He also worked for 20 years in route sales and service, followed by management of sales and service in the Linen and Uniform business. Dan was an avid Phillies and Eagles fan, and attended any sporting event his children participated in. He also enjoyed reading, doing puzzles, and especially traveling. He enjoyed a road trip out west, or down to the beach whenever he could.

In addition to his loving wife, Evelyn, Dan's memory will be cherished by his children: Kathleen Gechter, Steven Gechter (Lisa), Daniel Gechter (Claire), Michael Gechter; his grandchildren; James, Caitlin, Kelly, Owen, Tessa, Alicia, Lauren and Sarah, as well as his 12 great grandchildren. He will also be missed by his sisters: Beatrice Longernecker, Jane Hoffman, and Mary Ellen Kummerer.

The memorial service for Dan will be held on Monday, January 13, 2025 at 11 a.m. at Kuhn Funeral Home and Crematory, 5153 Kutztown Road, Temple, PA 19526. Friends and family may gather from 10 a.m. until the start of the service. Burial will follow in Pleasant View Cemetery.
