Harry E. Smith, 95, beloved brother, friend, uncle and great uncle passed away peacefully on August 5, 2016 in Columbia Cottage.

Born in Reading, PA on February 19, 1921, he was the son of the late Earl H. and Mary F. (Lapsley) Smith.

Harry retired from Gilbert Associates where he was employed as a mechanical draftsman. He was a long standing member of The Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, Lincoln Park congregation where he served as an elder and was an inspiration to others for many years. He enjoyed the outdoors and was an avid fisherman, going back many years to the days when he enjoyed sharing fishing with his father, mother and sister. He also enjoyed traveling to Florida every winter to visit his sister and brother-in-law.

Harry is survived by his brother-in-law, Allan E. Hagaman, Jupiter, FL, nephews: Edward A. Hagaman (Lori), York, PA, Donald E. Hagaman (Arlene), Cypress, TX and his niece Susan M. Wigton (Benton), Harrisburg, PA. He is also survived by six great and thirteen great-great nieces and nephews.

His only sibling, Ruth M. Hagaman, preceded him in death.

Graveside services will be held at the convenience of the family. A memorial service will be held at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, Lincoln Park, on Sunday, August 14, 2016 at 6 pm. Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home Inc., West Reading is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 1101 West Wyomissing Boulevard, Reading, PA 19609.
