Harry Leo Ollinger III, 74, of West Lawn, passed away on July 22, 2023 at Penn Presbyterian Medical Center in Philadelphia, PA surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Cynthia (Ratajczak) Ollinger with whom he shared 47 years of marriage.
Born on January 10, 1949 in Dothan, AL, he was one of seven children of the late H. Leo Ollinger Jr. and Mary Jane (Kroll) Ollinger. Harry was a 1967 graduate of St. Pius X High School and attended Georgia State University. Growing up in Atlanta, Harry developed a life-long devotion to all the local sports teams, especially the Braves. He also supported Penn State's and Temple's teams as they represent the alma maters of his children.
Harry had a successful career in the retail industry. He began as a buyer of menswear at the (former) Pomeroy's department store in Reading. He transitioned from menswear to lawn and garden at Glosser Brothers of Johnstown, PA and then moved to Boscov's, where he spent the remainder of his career before retiring in June of 2004. Working for Boscov's would bring Harry many friends, professional acquaintances, and an abundance of memories. His favorite memories were from the annual trips he took every January with Cindy and other colleagues - they most enjoyed their visit to Italy. During his retirement, Harry continued to work for SMS Marketing Systems of Williamsville, NY until February 2020.
Outside of his career, he liked to work in the yard, watch movies, and keep up on current events. In addition, Harry was an avid golfer and he looked forward to his annual golf trips with friends. He also enjoyed any time he spent with his family and friends. Harry was a proud father and an even prouder grandfather.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Cynthia; his children Bradley L. Ollinger (Kalina) of NJ, S. Alex Ollinger (Abigail) of Philadelphia, and Jennifer J. Ollinger of Lancaster; grandchildren Luke Ollinger, Layla Ollinger and Lorelei Ollinger. He is also survived by his siblings, Mimi Stephens (widow of Edwin), Fred Ollinger (Debby), Jim Ollinger, all of GA, Susie Leckness (Jerry), Marty Ollinger (Judy), all of AL and Phillip Ollinger (Ann) of TX; as
well as a number of nephews, nieces and family members.
