Harry J. Sotzin, 80, of Reading, died July 29, 2009 in Reading Hospital.
He was the husband of Betty J. (Gruber) Sotzin for 58 years. They were also high school sweethearts and soulmates.
Born in Lebanon, he was the son of the late Harry and Elizabeth (Strohman) Sotzin.
He was a 1947 graduate of Lebanon High School.
Harry was employed for 32 years by Bethlehem Steel Grace Mines, Morgantown.
He was a member of Robeson Lutheran Church, Plowville.
Harry loved to golf and hunt, and was an avid Philadelphia and Reading sports fan, passions he shared with his sons.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by three sons, James H., husband of Turie H., Reading; Gregg W., husband of Jackie, Harrisburg and Eric M., husband of June D., Birdsboro; and three sisters-in-law: Kathryn (Gruber), wife of George Bordlemay, Manheim; Georgene (Geist), wife of Paul Nee, Myerstown and Nancy (Geist), wife of Robert Smith, Richland and a brother-in-law, Bob, husband of Pat Gruber, Titusville, Fl.
There is one sister, Marilyn S., widow of Dr. A.N. Nucum, Lebanon; and two grandchildren, Lauren Ashley Sotzin and Ryan Sotzin. Several nieces and nephews also survive him.
Services will be Monday at 11:30 a.m. in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., West Reading. Friends may call Monday from 10 to 11:30 a.m. in the funeral home.
