Harry R. Hoffert, 68 of Greenwich Township, died in his residence on June 20th, 2014. He was the husband of Linda J. (Wanamaker) Hoffert. Harry was born in Allentown and was the son of the late Harry F.A. and Margaret T. (Christoff) Hoffert. He graduated from William Allen High School in 1963 and from the former Kutztown State College in 1979 with a B.S. in Business Administration. Harry proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. He was a Seaman First Class serving on the Destroyer USS Pritchett. His decorations included the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal with Device and the Navy Unit Commendation Ribbon. Harry worked in sales for the former Kline's Auto and Industrial Supplies, Allentown for 43 years retiring in 2012. He was a devout Christian. Harry was a former American Legion member. He enjoyed his land and dearly loved his grandchildren. In addition to his wife, he is survived by 2 sons, Michael H. husband of Chrissy Hoffert, West Lawn, Stephen P. husband of Lara Hoffert, Lincoln Park and 5 grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Joanne wife of Donald Kunkel, Emmaus. A viewing will be held on Thursday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 PM from the Burkey & Driscoll Funeral Home, Inc., 40 S. 4th St., Hamburg, PA. 19526. Funeral services and burial will be private and at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Pennsylvania German Heritage Cultural Society, 22 Luckenbill Road, Kutztown, PA. 19530.
