Harry E. Hill

Harry E. Hill, 100, of Reading, died January 23, 2011 in The Reading Hospital and Medical Center.

He was the husband of Helena (Kolowrocki) Hill who died in 1995.

Born January 4, 1911 in Reading, he was a son of the late Thomas W. and Ida (Seyfert) Hill.

Harry was employed with the Cotton Mill, Reading, for 30 years, last working as a manager. He was also employed with Dana Corp., Reading, where he worked on the press, retiring in 1973.

He was an avid baseball fan.

Surviving is a son, Harry L. Hill and his girlfriend, Leah L. Hoffa, both of Reading.

Other survivors include a brother, Edward Hill of Lebanon; son-in-law, Ronald Hettrick of Muhlenberg Township; four grandchildren: Linda Hettrick; Beth (Hettrick), wife of Neil Wentzel; David, husband of Susan Hettrick and Sherry (Hill), wife of Steve Phillips and six great grandchildren.

There is also a special friend and caregiver Helen Tuckey surviving.

Harry was predeceased by a daughter, Shirley A. (Hill) Hettrick; two sisters, Eva and Mabel and two brothers, Jay and Thomas.

Services will be Friday at 10 a.m. in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., 739 Penn Avenue, West Reading. Viewings will be held Thursday evening from 6:30-8:00 p.m. and Friday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service in the funeral home. Burial will be in Alsace Cemetery, Muhlenberg Township.
