Harry D. Grill

Harry D. Grill, Jr., 81, of West Reading, died March 18, 2013 in ManorCare Health Services, Spring Township.

He was a husband of Joanne (Graver) Grill whom he married September 19, 1951.

Born August 6, 1931 in Wyomissing, he was a son of the late Harry D., Sr. and Emma (Gehris) Grill.

Harry was a graduate of Wyomissing High School class of 1949, and Wyomissing Polytechnic Institute.

He was employed as a salesman with C.H. Briggs for over 20 years. Prior to that, his places of employment also included, Addressograph - Multigraph Company and Berkshire Knitting Mills.

Harry was a member of St. James Church, West Reading.

He served in the National Guard. Harry enjoyed reading, traveling, football, especially the Eagles, but most of all, spending time with his grandchildren.

He had many breakfasts at West Reading Diner.

Harry was a member of Wyomissing Area Alumni Association, West Reading Main Street Association, and Treasurer of Western Berks Water Authority.

Surviving are his two sons, Steven D., husband of Maria A. Grill of Shillington and Jeffrey W. Grill of Houston, TX. Other survivors include three grandchildren, Joshua, Zachary and Aaron.

Harry was predeceased by his three brothers, Ralph, Paul and Carl Grill, and his two sisters, Helen Oswald and Bernice Ennis. Services will be Thursday at 11a.m. in St. James Church, 644 Penn Avenue, West Reading, PA 19611. A visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the service.
