Harry Dobbins, 94, of Lower Heidelberg Township and formerly of Reading, died April 13, 2007 at 6:00 pm in the Reading Hospital and Medical Center where he had been a patient since April 3rd.
He was the widower of Evelyn Mae (Hetrich) Dobbins, who died March 20, 1992.
Born June 18, 1912 in Philadelphia, he was a son of the late Harry Dobbins, Sr. and Anna (Moser) Dobbins.
He was an Army Veteran of WWII, serving in Company G, 350th Infantry.
Harry was employed a number of years as a knitter with Berkshire Knitting Mills and later employed 18 years in the maintenance department with the Reading School District.
He was last employed part-time with Hamilton Bank before retiring in 1977.
Harry was a life member, since the age of 21 with the Neversink Fire Company No. 3.
He loved to spend time in Maryland and Delaware; boating, fishing and crabbing with his family.
Harry is survived by a son, Jerry A. husband of Gail (Gift) Dobbins of Muhlenberg Park and two daughters, Patricia A. widow of Kenneth E. Snyder of Ontelaunee Township and Bonnie L. wife of Wayne T. Mintzer, with whom he last resided.
There are also seven grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his sister, Eleanor.
