Harry Carl Delp

Harry Carl Delp, 81, died of natural causes on April 16th at 3:25 a.m. at his Maidencreek Township residence.

He was the husband of Alice M. (Lang) Delp of Maidencreek Township. His first wife Sarah M. (Reinheimmer) Delp died May of 1959.

Born in Reading, he was the son of the late Harry B. and Stella (McMaster) Delp.

He worked in the plant maintenance department for 12 years at the Hooper Paper Company, Reading. He then was the owner of the Delp Hardware, Blandon, for 34 years until his retirement in 1994.

Delp was an Army veteran of World War II.

He is survived by one son, Gene A. Delp, Fleetwood, and two daughters, Uileen M. (Delp) Pelton of Virginia Beach, VA, and Melode J. (Delp) Amara of Enola, PA.

He is also survived by five grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Services will be held on Thursday at 1:00 p.m. at the Walter R. Christ Funeral Home, Inc., Laureldale. Friends may call from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday and 12:30 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Arthritis Foundation, Attn: Web Donation Department P.O. Box 96280 Washington, DC 20077, or, American Diabetes Association, 3544 N. Progress Ave. Suite 101 Harrisburg, PA 17110. Walter R. Christ Funeral Home, Inc. is in charge of the arrangements.
