Harry T. Bernecker, 95, formerly of West Lawn, passed away December 19, 2016, in Berks Heim.
He was the husband of Rose A. (Leszczynski) Bernecker; they were married on June 24, 1950.
Born in Allentown, he was a son of the late John and Mamie Bernecker.
He was a graduate of Lebanon High School in 1939.
Harry was a proud veteran of the U.S. Marines Corps, serving during WW II as a Staff Sergeant.
He was a seafood salesman for Dietrich Seafood and later was employed by Western Electric and Lucent Technologies retiring in 1986.
Harry was a member of St. Ignatius Roman Catholic Church, Whitfield, where he was involved in the RCIA program for many years.
He was a tireless and devout Dallas Cowboys and Notre Dame football fan.
In addition to his wife, Rose, he is survived by his daughters, Christine R. Bernecker, Reading, and Audrey M. Bernecker, Carrollton, TX. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews, who adored him.
He was predeceased by his son, Michael James Bernecker, and 6 brothers and sisters.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, December 24, 2016, at 10 a.m. at St. Ignatius Church, 2810 St. Albans Drive, Sinking Spring, PA 19608 with burial to follow in Gethsemane Cemetery. Friends may call Saturday from 9 to 10 a.m. in the church. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Ignatius Church at the above address. Edward J.
