Harriet H. Koyste

Harriet H. (Gougon) Koyste, 79, died August 8, 2008 in her Spring Township residence. She was the dedicated wife of Michael Koyste, whom she married August 5, 1950. Born March 20, 1929 in Renovo, Clinton County, she was a daughter of the late Harry L. and Della R. (Koller) Gougon. She was a committee woman for the Democratic Party in Allegheny Twp., Westmoreland County. Harriet was also a publicity chairperson and den mother for Girl Scout Troop #502, Allegheny Twp. She was the loving mother of five children: Keith M., husband of Rosemarie (Lute) Koyste of Sinking Spring; Debra A. Kantner, companion of Joann Noss of Sinking Spring; Craig S., husband of Kazume (Baker) Koyste, of Spring Township; Douglas A., husband of Susan (Botsian) Koyste of Spring Township and Jeffrey L., husband of Sharlene (Moll) Koyste, of Sinking Spring. Other survivors include nine grandchildren: Mark, Cindy, Chris, Craig, Derrick, Brandon, Nikki, Justyn and Shane and four great grandchildren. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 10:00 am in the Chapel of Resurrection at Gethsemane Cemetery, 3125 Kutztown Road, Muhlenberg Township. Viewings will be held Tuesday 6:30 - 8:00 pm and Wednesday 8:30 - 9:30 am in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., 739 Penn Ave., West Reading. Entombment will be in Gethsemane Cemetery.
