Harold W. Klahr

Harold William Klahr, 82, formerly of Park Avenue, Temple, died August 12th at in Berks Heim Annex, Bern Township, where he had been since

He was the widower of Nellie Marie (Dechant) Klahr, who died December 11, 1990.

Born in Reading, he was a son of the late Davilla William and Opal R. (Herrmann) Klahr.

He was a graduate of Reading High School and East Stroudsburg University.

Klahr was employed as a teacher for various school districts including Perry High School, retiring 1984.

He is survived by a step-daughter, Janice M. (Baer) Dewald of Bern Township.

Other survivors include six step grandchildren, twelve step great grandchildren and one step great great grandson.

Klahr was predeceased by a step-son, Carl E. Baer, Jr., who died June 1990 and a step-daughter, Louise M. (Baer) Mauer, who died October 2004.

Services will be Tuesday at 1:30 pm in Walter R. Christ Funeral Home, Inc., Laureldale. Viewing one hour prior to service. Burial will be in Laureldale Cemetery, Muhlenberg Township. Contributions may be made to Olivets Boys & Girls Club, 1161 Pershing Blvd., Reading, Pa 19611.
