Harold W. Bjorken

Harold W. Bjorken, 85, passed away March 27, 2012 in his Spring Township residence.

He was the husband of Gloria M. (Ackerman) Bjorken.

Born in Kearny, NJ, he was a son of the late Johan A. and Hilma M. (Nilsson) Bjorken.

He was a 1944 graduate of Kearny High School, NJ and attended Rutgers University, NJ.

Harold was a manager for Penncast Corporation, Marietta, Lebanon County; retiring in 1991. Formerly, he was employed by the Pennsylvania Steel Foundry and Machine Company, Hamburg as their high alloy manager.

He was the past president and secretary for Lincoln Park Lions Club.

Harold was a member of St. Alban's Episcopal Church, Sinking Spring.

He was a U.S. Navy veteran.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, Randall P., husband of BettyAnn Bjorken, Wyomissing. Also surviving are his grandchildren: Johan Bjorken, Sonja Bjorken and Erik Bjorken.

A Memorial Service will be Monday at 10:30 a.m. in St. Alban's Episcopal Church, 2848 St. Alban's Dr., Sinking Spring, PA 19608. A visitation will be 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. in the church. Inurnment will be in the adjoining columbarium following services. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Alban's Episcopal Church Building Fund or Memorial Fund at the above address.
