Harold A. Strunk

Dr. Harold A. Strunk, 90, of Weaver Road, South Heidelberg Township, formerly of North 15th Street, died Dec. 20 at 1:10 a.m. in his residence.

His wife, Vera E. (Kuhns) Strunk, died Aug. 6, 2001.

Born in Mohnton, he was a son of the late John and Eva (Youndt) Strunk.

Strunk was a self-employed family physician in Reading for 15 years, and later worked as an anesthesiologist at Reading Hospital for 20 years, retiring in 1979.

He was a member of Christ Church United Church of Christ, Temple.

Strunk was an Army Air Forces veteran of World War II.

He was a 1931 graduate of Reading High School, a 1935 graduate of Albright College and received his doctorate in 1939 from the George Washington University Medical School, Washington.

Strunk is survived by two sons, Dr. H. Philip, Penllyn, Montgomery County, and Stephan T., Sewickley, Allegheny County; and two daughters, Elizabeth A. (Strunk) Johnson, Reading, and Eloise A. (Strunk) Seidel, with whom he resided.

Other survivors include a sister, Ethel (Strunk) Sweitzer, Reading.

There are also 11 grandchildren and one great-grandson.

Services will be private. Burial will be in Gethsemane Cemetery, Laureldale. Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home Inc., West Reading, is in charge of arrangements.
