Harold L. Schmehl

Harold L. Schmehl, 80, of Richmond Township, died of natural causes March 29th at 11:30 pm in St. Joseph's Medical Center, where he had been since March 8th.

He was the husband of Dawn Renee (Kline) Schmehl.

Born in Richmond Township, he was a son of the late Leon S. and Anna A. (Rauenzahn) Schmehl.

He was a Army Veteran of WWII.

Schmehl was employed 30 years as a crane operator at Dana Corporation, Reading, retiring in 1978.

He was a life member of the Fleetwood American Legion Post #625.

Schmehl is also survived by a son, Hal R. Schmehl of Mount Penn and a daughter, Sharon (Schmehl) Thiel of Traverse City, Michigan.

Other survivors include three sisters, Marion J. Schmehl of Reading, Erma (Schmehl) Heckman of Blandon and Gloria (Schmehl) Kline of Fleetwood.

There are also four grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

He was predeceased by a son, Clyde G. Schmehl, who died November 1, 1948.

Services will be Monday at 1:00 pm in Walter R. Christ Funeral Home, Inc., Laureldale. Rev. Dr. Barbara Kershner-Daniel officiating. Viewing one hour prior to service. Burial will be in St. Paul's Union Cemetery, Richmond Township. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Fleetwood Fire Company, 101 North Washington Street, Fleetwood, Pa 19522.
