Harold Delvin McKemy, 73, of 3 Bobolink Drive, Wyomissing died Wednesday July 31st at 3:25a.m. in his residence.
He was the husband of Eileen L. (Muschko) McKemy.
Born in Edinburg, Missouri., he was a son of the late Orah Stanley and Ruby Lee (Hooper) McKemy.
He was graduate of Trenton (M.O.)High School. While in high school he was a member of the Chantaclears Barbershop Quartet winning a number one rating in the National competition in 1947.
He was a 1951 graduate of the University of Missouri with a BS in Business Administration where he was a member of the Beta Theta Pi fraternity and Delta Sigma Pi business fraternity.
In 1999, the University of Missouri Business School awarded him the Alumni Citation of Merit and in 2001 he received the Zeta Phi Distinguished Service Award and was elected to the Zeta Phi Chapter of Beta Theta Phi Wall of Fame.
McKemy was a member of Immanuel United Church of Christ, Shillington.
He was an Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict.
McKemy worked for the Price Waterhouse Company for a number of years and later joined the Lee Company which merged with VF Corporation in 1969. After 37 years with VF Corp., he retired in 1994 as Vice President of Treasury and Financial Services.
He served as a Director of many boards including the Caron Foundation of which he is Director Emeritus, Alvernia College, Community General Hospital, Society for the Achievement of Human Potential, Penn State University's Advisory Board, Berkshire Country Club as past President, Board of Trade of San Francisco, Arkwright Mutual Insurance Company and currently serves on the Strategic Development Board of the University of Missouri.
McKemy is also survived by a son; Harold Daniel of Drexelwood and a daughter; Leigh Ann (McKemy) Graff of Avon, Ct.
Other survivors include four grandchildren.
He was predeceased by three brothers; Jim, Roger and Donald.
Services will be Saturday August 3rd at 11:00 a.m. in Immanuel United Church of Christ, 99 Waverly Street, Shillington. Viewing Friday 6:30 - 8:00 p.m. in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., West Reading. Burial will be private in Forest Hills Memorial Park, Exeter. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Harold D. & O. Roger McKemy Scholarship - Zeta Phi Society, C/O Robert Selsor, Esq., 12th Floor, 7735 Forsyth Blvd., St. Louis, Missouri 63105.
