Hannah Elizabeth (Gaffney) "Betty" Clements, 84, of Cumru Township, died November 5, 2010 in her daughter's residence, surrounded by her loving family.
She was the wife of Gordon Wilson Clements who died April 11, 2007.
Betty was a loving wife of 62 years, homemaker, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
Born April 5, 1926 in Barrow-in-Furness, England, she was a daughter of the late Thomas and Mary (Todd) Gaffney.
Betty finished her education in England and was employed in a dry-cleaners as well as various clerical positions. In January of 1975 she immigrated to New York.
She loved to travel to Myrtle Beach, Florida, Atlantic City and back to England to visit family.
Betty enjoyed spending time with her daughters, grandchildren and for the last three months, her great granddaughter, Addisyn. A lover of life, she enjoyed entertaining friends, music, and dancing.
Surviving are two daugthers, Barbara E.C., wife of Robert A. Lenton and Gillian M., widow of Craig A. Post, both of Cumru Township.
In addition, there are three grandchildren surviving: Kevin A. Post, Jennifer M. Post and Michael R. Post and a great granddaughter, Addisyn C. Lape.
Other survivors include family members in England, Scotland and New Zealand.
Betty was predeceased by a granddaughter, Sarah E. Lenton and a sister, Molly Green.
The family would like to express their thanks to everyone who has cared for Betty in the past few years.
A Memorial Service will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., 739 Penn Avenue, West Reading. A visitation will be held from 1-2 p.m.
