Greta Arcella Gougler, 69, was found dead in her residence at 521 North 9th Street, Reading. She was pronounced dead at 1:03 a.m. September 29th by the Berks County Coroners Office.
Born in Reading, Pa., she was a daughter of the late J. Paul and Carrie A. (Rothenberger) Gougler.
She was a 1951 graduate of Reading High School.
Gougler was an Avon Representative for over 45 years, last working Friday.
She was a member of St. Stephen's United Church of Christ, Reading where she was on the choir for 57 years and also a Sunday school teacher for over 40 years last working the 22nd.
She was also a judge of elections for the 10th and Green Streets polling stations.
Gougler is survived by two sisters; Geraldine (Gougler) widow of James "Jack" Moyer of Reading and Gloria V. (Gougler) widow of Joseph V. Kotzer of Montrose Manor.
She was predeceased by two brothers, Fenton R. and Kenneth J.
Services will be Friday 10:00 a.m. in St. Stephen's United Church of Christ, 9th and Greenwich Streets, Reading, Pa 19604. Friends may call friday 9:00 - 10:00 a.m. in the church. Burial will be in Alsace Cemetery, Hyde Park. Walter R. Christ Funeral Home, Inc., Laureldale is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Greta Gougler Memorial Fund, c/o St. Stephen's U.C. Church at the above address.
