Grant W. Machemer

Grant William Machemer, 87, of 2243 Fairview Street, West Lawn died March 10th at 2:05 am in the Reading Hospital and Medical Center, West Reading where he had been since February 29th.

He was the widower of Dorothy G. (Mauger) Machemer who died December 27, 1995.

Born in West Reading, he was a son of the late William P. and Bertha (Reppert) Machemer.

He was a member of West Lawn United Methodist Church.

Machemer last worked a molder for a number of years at Empire Steel, Muhlenberg Township until his retirement.

He previously worked as a molder for 25 years at the former American Chain and Cable, Reading before closing in 1971.

Machemer was a life member of the West Lawn Fire Company.

He is survived by three daughters, Sandra M. wife of Daniel L. Keppley of Spring Township, Linda K. wife of Michael C. Davis of Spring Township and Mary Lou wife of Gary A. Schultz of Sinking Spring.

There are also three grandchildren and one grandson.

Machemer was predeceased by three sisters, Janet (Machemer) Albright, June (Young) Derr and Mary Lou Machemer.

Memorial Services will be Friday at 2:00 pm in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., West Reading. Rev. Rollin T. Reiner officiating. Burial will be in Sinking Spring Cemetery.
