Grace M. Shirk, of Bernville, passed away peacefully at home on January 30, 2026. Born in Manhattan, New York, to the late William J. and Edith H. (Grace) Galvin, Grace was the beloved wife of Elmer Shirk, Jr., who predeceased her in 2017 after 64 years of marriage. Together they built a life rooted in devotion, hard work, and family.
Grace was employed as a candy packer for Linettes for 21 years. She later worked in sales at Boscov's East and also served the community through her work at the Flying Hills Day Care Center.
Above all else, Grace was a loving wife, mother, aunt, and grandmother who cherished her family. She is survived by her daughter, Cindy Dianne Schmeltz, of Exeter Township; and her grandsons, Bryan S. Miller, Jeremy R. Loos, Daniel T. Loos, and Benjamin A. Loos. She was also blessed with six great-grandchildren, who brought her much joy.
In addition to her husband and parents, Grace was predeceased by her brother, William Galvin and her sister, Edna Truitt.
In accordance with Grace's wishes, services will be private.
Memorial contributions may be made in Grace's memory to Tulpehocken Trinity UCC in Richland, PA.
