Grace Leona Herbein

Grace Leona Herbein, 95, formerly of Muhlenberg Township, died April 17, 2014 in Phoebe Berks Village, Wernersville.

She was the wife of Woodrow Smith Herbein who died February 7, 1971.

Born September 3, 1918 in Topton, she was a daughter of the late Abner John and Verna (Stauffer) Croll.

Grace was a graduate of Emmaus High School.

She was employed as a secretary and bookkeeper with Caloric Corporation and Berks Intermediate Unit, where she retired from in 1980.

Grace was a very active member of Calvary Lutheran Church, Laureldale, where she was a member of the choir, a Sunday school teacher and played the piano.

She was a volunteer with Muhlenberg Ambulance Association.

Surviving are her three children: William C., husband of Jacqueline Herbein of Export, PA; Ann L., wife of Sterling D. Snyder of Muhlenberg Township and David S., husband of Theresa A. Herbein of York, ME.

Other survivors include her seven grandchildren: Cynthia Schaeffer, Christina Herbein, Patricia Herbein, Joshua Herbein, Daniel Herbein, Melissa Sapru and Bradley Snyder and three great grandchildren.

Grace was predeceased by her three siblings: Paul A. Croll, Mary A. Bollinger and Catherine Wagner.

Services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. in Kuhn-Stitzel Funeral Homes and Crematory, Inc., 3300 Kutztown Road, Laureldale, PA 19605. A viewing will be held one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Hope Cemetery, Dryville.
