Grace Geiger

Grace (Turrisi) Geiger, 82, passed away Sunday, March 19, 2017, at Reading Hospital.

Born in Reading, she was the daughter of the late Rosa Marullo Turrisi and Joseph Turrisi, who emigrated from Caronia, Sicily. She was predeceased by her siblings Mary, Brasa, Nick, Anthony, Rosalee, and Samuel. She is survived by her sister Bessie, her sister-in-laws Jean and Rita, her children Donna, James, Deborah and Teri, and her two grandchildren.

A graduate of Reading High School who was involved in many sports including softball, basketball, and volleyball, Grace loved athletics, singing, and cooking. After high school, Grace worked at Bell Telephone before becoming a housewife. Later, she worked at UGI as a customer information senior representative until her retirement in 1997.

Grace was a lifetime member of Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church. She loved spending time with her children, brothers and sisters, who all raised families in the Reading area. Grace spent her retirement years enjoying time with her siblings, her children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, March 23, 2017, at 10:30 a.m. in Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church, 237 Franklin St, Reading, PA 19602. Friends may call on Thursday, March 23, from 9-10 a.m. in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., 739 Penn Ave., West Reading. Burial will follow at Yocoms Church Cemetery, Grill, PA.
