Grace C. Gallagher

Grace C. Gallagher, 87, Reading, died Jan. 22 in Phoebe Berks Skilled Nursing Unit, Wernersville, where she had resided since February 2004.

Her husband, Joseph P. Gallagher, died Dec. 9, 1999.

Born in Reading, she was a daughter of the late George and Mary (Cummings) Boas.

Gallagher was a graduate of St. Peter's High School, Reading.

She was a member of St. Margaret's Roman Catholic Church, Reading.

Gallagher served as a judge of elections in Reading for many years until 2003.

Surviving are two sons, the Rev. Joseph P., Philadelphia, and Kevin T., Spring Township; and two daughters, Patricia J. (Gallagher) Rehr, Reading, and Kathleen G. (Gallagher) Strause, Bernville.

Other survivors include two sisters, Dorothy (Boas) Buser and Miriam (Boas) Hillbish, both of Reading.

There are also 10 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday at 7 p.m. in St. Margaret's Church. Friends may call at the church from 6 to 7 p.m. Burial will be private in Gethsemane Cemetery, Laureldale. Contributions may be made to St. Margaret's R. C. Church, 925 Centre Ave., Reading, PA 19601. Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home Inc., West Reading, is in charge of arrangements.
